Custom Home HVAC Design & Installation

Your vision. Our precision. Call 253 370 8641 to bring us in early.

Poor HVAC planning is one of the top causes of comfort complaints in new construction. By the time the drywall is up, the cheap decisions are permanent. GreenFlow designs and installs HVAC for custom homes and major remodels across Pierce County and the South Sound, working alongside your builder, architect and designer from the plan stage forward.

Why HVAC Belongs in the Architectural Stage

  • Designed to fit. Systems planned around your floor plan, not forced into whatever chase is left over.
  • Ducted, ductless, or hybrid. Solutions that align with your home’s architecture and finishes.
  • Efficient from the start. Planning for performance early saves real money over the life of the house.
  • Seamless collaboration. Builder, designer and installer working from the same drawings.
  • Acoustics matter. Return air paths, duct velocity and equipment placement determine whether your house is quiet. That’s a design decision, not a field fix.

What We Design and Install

  • Manual J load calculations, Manual D duct design and Manual S equipment selection
  • Multi zone ducted heat pump systems and dual fuel setups
  • Concealed slim ducted and ceiling cassette ductless for guest suites, ADUs and shops
  • Zoning with dampers and multiple thermostats for multi level or wing based layouts
  • ERV/HRV balanced ventilation to meet Washington State Energy Code whole house ventilation requirements
  • Indoor air quality packages: deep media filtration, humidity control, fresh air
  • Custom sheet metal fabrication, exposed spiral duct where the design calls for it
  • Hydronic coordination, radiant integration and gas piping for ranges and fireplaces

Plan Today for Long Term Comfort

Consider your needs

  • Do you want heating, cooling, hot water, or everything on one platform?
  • Which emitters fit the design ducted registers, fan coils, radiant, or ductless heads?
  • Which rebates and incentives are you eligible for on this build?

Center your choices around your space

  • How many rooms need independent temperature control?
  • How much mechanical space is available inside and where can the outdoor equipment live without dominating a patio or side yard?
  • Where will returns go? Under returned houses are the single most common design failure we’re called in to fix.

Build for comfort today and tomorrow

  • Are you willing to spend more up front to cut long term energy use?
  • How important is decarbonization and electrification readiness to you?
  • Do you want capacity for a future ADU, shop, or finished basement?

How We Work with Builders

We give you a real drawing set, not a napkin sketch. We hold rough in dates, we coordinate with framing and electrical so nobody’s chasing a chase and we show up for inspections. Trim out is clean, registers are aligned and commissioning is documented before we hand it over.

Custom Home HVAC FAQs

When should we bring you in? At schematic design, before the framing plan is locked. Mechanical chases, return paths and equipment locations are much cheaper on paper than in the field.

What does a full custom home system cost? It varies widely with size, zoning and equipment tier. We give a design stage budget range early so it can be carried in the build budget accurately, then a fixed price once the plans are final.

How long does the installation take? Rough in typically takes three to seven days depending on size and zone count, then we return for trim out and commissioning after finishes. We schedule around your builder, not the other way around.

Do we need mechanical ventilation? In new construction in Washington, yes. Tight envelopes need a designed fresh air path. An ERV is our default recommendation because it recovers most of the heat while ventilating.

Can you do a fully electric home? Yes. Heat pump space heating, heat pump water heating, induction ready electrical planning and ERV ventilation. We’ll be honest about where a gas backup still makes sense for your site.

Do you work on remodels too? Yes additions, whole house renovations, basement finishes and ADUs. Retrofits are often more technically interesting than new construction and we like them.

Who actually does the work? The owner is personally involved in every custom home project, from layout to final commissioning.

  • Load calculations on every install. We size equipment to the house, not to a rule of thumb.

What Our Customers Say

“the owner and GreenFlow are the GOAT. We were renovating our home and I met with countless HVAC installers. Only the owner was genuinely excited to creatively problem solve for the challenges our house presented. We didn’t get some cookie cutter system… Our inspector said it was one of the nicest residential installs he had seen.”
David Sosnow
“the owner was incredibly thorough in helping us choose the right HVAC system for our home… We ended up with a whole house heat pump that’s been working perfectly. The owner also walked us through how to use it efficiently and followed up afterward. The warranty he provided was excellent too.”
